@GoldsboroBooks Book of the Month Club: The world’s largest signed first edition book club

7 Deaths promo 1

I did it, I finally signed up to Goldsboro Books Book of the Month Club (GB BOTM)! I have lived in envy of Kerrie @ Loved Reading This for months, as she is a member – I can no longer live vicariously through her so I signed up myself.

GB BOTM is the worlds largest signed first edition book club; each month they select a book they believe will become a raging success and possibly a collectible. Many of the books are limited editions published exclusively for Goldsboro Books. This membership isn’t without it’s perks either, as a member you’ll get: a free book when you join, 10% of every purchase, exclusive book offers, promotional material [when available], and exclusive competitions and, perhaps most importantly, priority to buy special limited editions.

When you sign up, you check out three months worth of books, you’re shown the books ahead of time, so if you’re interested, I’d wait for a run of three books that you want (that’s what I did). So let’s look at my first GB BOTM club parcel.

February Book

THE SEVEN DEATHS OF EVELYN HARDCASTLE by STUART TURTON

The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle.jpg

A brilliantly original high concept murder mystery from a fantastic new talent: Gosford Park meets Inception, by way of Agatha Christie

‘Somebody’s going to be murdered at the ball tonight. It won’t appear to be a murder and so the murderer won’t be caught. Rectify that injustice and I’ll show you the way out.’

It is meant to be a celebration but it ends in tragedy. As fireworks explode overhead, Evelyn Hardcastle, the young and beautiful daughter of the house, is killed.

But Evelyn will not die just once. Until Aiden – one of the guests summoned to Blackheath for the party – can solve her murder, the day will repeat itself, over and over again. Every time ending with the fateful pistol shot.

The only way to break this cycle is to identify the killer. But each time the day begins again, Aiden wakes in the body of a different guest. And someone is determined to prevent him ever escaping Blackheath…

ZODIAC by SAM WILSON

Zodiac - Sam Wilson

A high-concept serial killer thriller set in a world where instead of class, race or religion, society is divided along Zodiac lines.

In this society, status is cast at birth – and binding for life. Who you are can be determined by a matter of days, hours, even minutes.

So when a series of uniquely brutal murders targets victims from totally different walks of life, is it the work of a serial killer or a misguided revolution for freedom and equality?

All eyes are on Detective Jerome Burton and Profiler Lindi Childs. They may disagree over whether the answers are written in the stars but they are united by their belief that a grand plan is being executed… one that will make everyone question the world they live in.

The signs are everywhere. But is the truth written in the stars or hiding in the shadows?

Zodiac - sam w

I am so happy with both of these books, and I cannot wait to read them. I need to rearrange my shelves to make an exclusive GB BOTM shelf! For more information on GB BOTM or to sign up, visit their website.

    1. It’s not too bad actually, they take the payments monthly, it was £22.50, this month (incl. postage). I know postage is always £4.50 (in the U.K.), I think that’s a bit on the dearer side but they do package the book very well to avoid damage 😊

    1. It’s not too bad as you pay monthly, but the book is so gorgeous, I think is worth it. The postage is a bit on the dearer side and that made me hesitant at first, but they do package the book well so it arrives safely 😊

  1. Brilliant Janel this is such a lovely service! I was a member a couple of years back and had to give it up for financial reasons but I still adore my gorgeous BOTM shelf, the editions are so beautiful! 😍

  2. Are you still getting this box! It looks so special, not sure if it is in US. I’m finally getting around to reading Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle! I came back to look up your review because I remember it pushed me to add it! I have to say it is brilliant! Not quite finished (75%) but hoping to this week. ❤

    1. I am still getting it, I’ve had some wonderful editions. It’s based in the UK but I’m sure they ship worldwide, worth checking out the price. I’m envious of the US BOTM, I quite like the idea that you pick the titles you want at the beginning of each month.
