“Don’t Trust This Book. Don’t Trust These People. Don’t Trust Yourself. And whatever you do, DON’T give away that ending…” – Those are the rules.
But trust me when I say, this is a must-read!
Since her husband walked out, Louise has made her son her world, supporting them both with her part-time job. But all that changes when she meets
Young, successful and charming Louise cannot believe a man like him would look at her twice let alone be attracted to her. But that all comes to a grinding halt when she meets his wife
Beautiful, elegant and sweet Louise’s new friend seems perfect in every way. As she becomes obsessed by this flawless couple, entangled in the intricate web of their marriage, they each, in turn, reach out to her.
But only when she gets to know them both does she begin to see the cracks. Is David really the man she thought she knew and is Adele as vulnerable as she appears?
Just what terrible secrets are they both hiding and how far will they go to keep them?
#WTFthatending – never have I seen a hashtag so fitting for a book! You just won’t believe the way this one ends, and if you’re like me, feeling a bit confident like yeah I know where this is going, let me tell you, you’re wrong. This ending goes somewhere then takes you somewhere else completely!
Louise, David and Adele, a love triangle like no other. The hype surrounding this book is crazy, before reading it, I felt like I was on the outside of some secret club, desperate to get it. And now I’m in, this is definitely a club you want to be part of! My interest was piqued from the very beginning, and with each page the anticipation was building. I knew something big was coming, but Pinborough gives no indication of what, and that’s why this book is so satisfying. It was everything I thought it would be and more.
It’s dark, it’s chilling, it’s shocking. What starts as an office crush, and a sneaky kiss in a bar, becomes a tale of lies, deceit, obsession and control – all building towards the ending that will blow your mind. With narrators you can’t trust, this is a brilliant psychological thriller with an ending that will push your brain to it’s limits.
“Secrets, secrets, secrets. People are filled to the brim with them if you look closely.”
Look closely, give this book your full attention, and enjoy this one-of-a-kind read.
